Material and fabric

The Artur trousers are a classic journeyman work pant for men, made from heavy-duty corduroy in Trenkercord with 22 ribs per 10 cm and a fabric weight of 550 g/m². The fabric has a tight, robust rib structure that provides excellent durability and a classic cord-look. The material may feel slightly stiff at first, but gradually adapts to the body’s contours, making the trousers comfortable and natural to wear after a short period. The cotton content ensures breathability, while the polyester core adds extra strength and longevity. The trousers are produced in Germany and have a total weight of 1,020 g in size 52.

Trenkercord is a particularly durable corduroy fabric. It is characterized by wide ribs and high weight, providing long-lasting wear and protection in demanding conditions. Historically, Trenkercord was used by traveling journeymen because it could withstand years of daily use. Today, it is mainly used for journeyman pants, work jackets, and other traditional workwear where durability and function are prioritized.

Fit and cut

The trousers have a comfortable, relaxed fit with a straight cut and no bent legs. The thigh is slightly wider, ensuring freedom of movement even with a folding ruler in the side pocket. The waistband is wider than normal, ensuring the trousers stay in place during movement and retain their shape over time. The leg opening measures 48 cm.

Pockets and functionality

The trousers feature folding ruler pockets on both sides, keeping tools and pens easily accessible. The side pockets have a wide opening for easy access, even with gloves on. The pockets are reinforced with synthetic leather at the edges and double-stitched corners to prevent wear. There is one back pocket with a button, and the belt loops are positioned correctly for FHB Max and Moritz holster pouches.

Zippers and durability

The Artur trousers are equipped with gold-colored, extra-wide YKK zippers with solid end pieces, making them particularly robust and durable. Double-stitched seat seams and the use of highly tear-resistant yarn with a cotton sheath and polyester core further reinforce the trousers.

Note

The fabric may feel stiff and heavy at first, especially in this heavier weight class. After a short period of wear, it adapts to the body’s shape and becomes softer and more flexible.
